Gettin' Sappy

Forewarning, this post is a little sappy. But a whole lotta true. I had someone ask me again recently why I have a certain key on my key ring and I love explaining it EVERY time. Here is the picture so you get the idea:
See that awesome antique key? Well everywhere I go, people ask me what it opens. I always get a big smile on my face and say..."I have no idea." I then get to go on and tell them where I got it and why I have it. My good friend Kari, also author of The Beloved Wife, got married in August of 2009. She is SO very creative and did a pink (all shades) and black wedding. I fell in LOVE the minute she explained the motif. I also fell in love with her use of damask and antique keys throughout. This particular key was connected to our place cards, telling us where to sit. How creative right?? Ok, so your probably wondering...so what's the point?

The reason I have kept it on my key ring for over a year and a half now, is to remind me of true love. I fell in love with Kari and her husband's relationship and their true love for one another. They are goofy with each other and serious when they need to be. They are truly in love and this key reminds me daily that true love does exist and if I'm patient enough, the Lord will bless me with someone just as crazy and odd as I am. So this post is to you Kari and your beautiful marriage, and also to everyone else out there that has found their true love!

For those of you that haven't, be patient, true love will find it's way :)

  1. Hi Lauren, I absolutely love your post. I too believe in patiently awaiting true love. My sister and husband also have a beautiful marriage with three beautiful girls. And I never knew a man good love a woman as my sister husband loves her... oh yeah and when I saw the movie "When A Man Loves A Woman" GREAT MOVIE!. But I'm also single, and I'm content that way for I know the man whose going to love me will love everything about me... Lauren please visit my blog and tell me what you think? I'm also a southern girl! www.afocusedjourney.com

  2. If I can be extremely corny, it's the key to your heart. Your friend's wedding sounds beautiful as well. I love keys.
